Track to Blackmuir Wood, Strathpeffer
Forest car park and trails just SW of Strathpeffer. Unfortunately, some of the walks were closed off due to forestry work, but there are several alternatives within walking distance.

Elsick House, Strathpeffer
Built by Dr Thomas Morrison of Elsick, Aberdeenshire, who settled in Strathpeffer when he discovered that the spring waters alleviated his arthritis. Rebuilt with additions in 1900 by architect Alexander Ross. The house was later bought by the Scottish Youth Hostel Association and run as a youth hostel until 2002. Elsick House, Strathpeffer
