Kinnetas House, Strathpeffer
Built about 1830, this is one of four farm houses which were the only large buildings in Strath before the Victorians came along in the late 1800s and turned Strathpeffer into a spa. Although the setting here looks very rural, Kinnetas House now finds itself in the middle of the village, and is surrounded by more modern buildings. This picture is taken from the grounds of the Fodderty and Strathpeffer Church of Scotland Parish Church, which was built in 1888.

Bus Depot, (Spa Motors), Strathpeffer
This was originally the steading for nearby Kinnettas House (built around 1830 - see Image]). Use of the building as a garage predates mechanised transport. The building on the right was converted into a cinema during World War II, and after the war the building continued to be used for showing films for a while. According to a 1949 prospectus for the sale of part of the Strathpeffer Estate, the buildings were then known as Kinnettas Garage.

Highland Hotel, Reception entrance
The hotel stands on a slight hillside just above the village centre, and has an imposing frontage. (See Image]). Here, pictured, and 'round the back', is the rather less impressive entrance to the reception of the hotel.

Rosslyn Lodge, Strathpeffer
Built as a lodging house in about 1886, then having fourteen bedrooms and five parlours. Latterly owned by the Shearings Group and used as staff accommodation for the nearby Highland Hotel. Sadly, Rosslyn Lodge is currently unoccupied and looking very uncared for.
