This was originally the steading for nearby Kinnettas House (built around 1830 - see Image]). Use of the building as a garage predates mechanised transport. The building on the right was converted into a cinema during World War II, and after the war the building continued to be used for showing films for a while. According to a 1949 prospectus for the sale of part of the Strathpeffer Estate, the buildings were then known as Kinnettas Garage.
