Shield Bug
I believe that this is a Mottled Shield Bug (Rhaphigaster nebulosi) but am happy to be corrected. It is also known as a Stink Bug because of its unpleasant smell when crushed. There seemed to be a large number of them just here, on sycamore leaves.
