This is the view from the entrance to the Grange, which is a large timber-framed house that stands to the northeast of the church. The church is mainly 14th century and stands in a pretty setting.

Chelsworth All Saints church
Chelsworth’s 14th c. church is very recognisable as it is shabby cream-coloured on the north side. It appears to be almost derelict, but inside it is alive and vibrant. One of the first things that catches the eye is a doom painting over the chancel arch. Although this is faded and damaged through being whitewashed over, it is still possible to make out most of the features. At one time there was a north chapel in the chancel but this has been removed; only the corbels for the roof remain. In the north aisle there is a fine tomb set into the wall. The decorative detail of the canopy is very fine.
