Kersey Mill - hurst frame
This mill has 6 pairs of stones arranged as three either side of a long hurst frame with layshaft drive. This side is unrestored and had been driven by a steam engine that was removed long ago. The other side is restored and can be driven by the waterwheel.

Kersey Mill - wire machine
A disused flour dresser in one corner of the ground floor. There is also a large centrifugal dresser nearby that used a cloth sieve although the cloth is no longer there (probably rotted away). This excellent mill was open for National Mills Open weekend and was well worth incorporating in a two day trip.

Kersey Mill
Photographed from the car park. The only view I got of this very impressive watermill. The mill is undergoing a major restoration and the site is also home to a variety of businesses.

Kersey Mill - hurst frame
Kersey Mill - hurst frame This mill has 6 pairs of stones arranged as three either side of a long hurst frame with layshaft drive. This side is unrestored and had been driven by a steam engine that was removed long ago. The ground meal was moved to the next stage of processing by an augur along the front of the framing and a bucket conveyor at the far end. In the background is a large flour dresser.

Kersey Mill - hurst frame
This side of the frame has three sets of stones driven by the waterwheel and has been fully restored. The far set can also be turned by an auxiliary electric drive. Seen during National Mills Open weekend. The mill was just left open and we were completely undisturbed while we had a good look at the accessible portions of the mill.

Kersey Mill - flour dresser
A Whitmore and Binyon centrifugal dresser for grading the meal from the millstones. The mill has recently been restored but the auxiliary machinery is not in use. There was only access to the ground floor but fortunately there was more than enough interesting machinery to see here.

Kersey Mill - hurst frame and stones
This is the restored side with three pairs of stones that can be driven by the waterwheel. The unrestored side to the left had three pairs driven by a long departed steam engine. When Ashley Dace saw this mill it was good but it's now even better.
