Ipswich IP4, Suffolk.
Two cinema complexes side-by-side at Major's Corner (where Crown Street and Woodbridge Road link to become one). The one nearest to the observer has been closed since 2005. This was Ipswich's first multiplex cinema, the former five-screen Odeon complex, that opened in 1991 but that then closed due to poor attendance; something that was blamed upon inadequate user-friendly car parking. The older establishment is the Regent Theatre and Concert Venue that is owned by the City Council. It reopened in September 1991 following major improvements. The derelict gaol, court & county hall building can be seen in the distance.
