Chameleon House, Blomfield Street
The house has already featured as Image and as Image Today the colour is blue net and brick red. The building nears completion, with the outer brick layer in place, as is the roof.

Red House, Blomfield Street
I am told the spectacular colour is just a permeable membrane on the inside of the cavity, with the outer brick wall yet to be built. The walls as shown appeared in just one day, from prefabricated parts. It seems the building is to continue the existing horrid row of flats that look like terraced houses - a car park for this overcrowded street would have been a more useful purpose for this former patch of vegetation. As it backs onto the busy Tayfen Road I hope it will have good soundproof double glazing.

Car park resurfacing
This car park resurfacing seemed to be very well organised and sequenced. A part was barred to access, new access and exit routes defined, a new surface laid and smoothed, new white lines added, and then the operation moved on to the next section. The transitions to old tarmac were blended very smoothly, and the drains were cleared. Triton House in the background houses the income tax offices, the Job Centre, the driving test centre, and some of the local courts. Between the car park and the building is the exit lane from the bus station, and here we see the blur of a bus on its way out. The blur of light above the NO EXIT sign is the road roller on the move. Triton House is in St. Andrews Street, and behind it we can see the spire of St. John's church, which is in St. John's Street.

Graffiti caricature, Tayfen Road
A lot more original than a tag, I wonder if it is a self portrait? On the right we see the junction of Springfield Road, Tayfen Road and Parkway. The building is part of the disused Opus cars site, and according to rumour is home to squatters, though I could see no sign of that.
