Hythe Road, Methwold
The road is rising from the fen up into Methwold village. An old Nuffield tractor (45 h.p. BMC diesel as introduced in 1954) is still going strong after 42 years.

Cottage on Hythe Road, Methwold
All the building materials characteristic of this part of the Fen edge are part of this cottage: flint, chalk clunch, carrstone, brick and pantiles. This is the lowest point of Hythe Road and although there is no obvious watercourse the front door seems to be kept permanently on a flood footing, with a flood gate erected and sandbags piled up.
