The old converted dye works of Syleham Mill
Syleham Mill once stood behind these cottages until it was completely destroyed by a fire in 1928. Only this building, the old dye works, fronting Syleham Road, could be saved, which have since been converted into these cottages

Bridge over the Waveney
The bridge crossing the Waveney was subject to tolls with the toll house situated by the Mill South of the river. See: http://www.norfolkmills.co.uk/Watermills/syleham.html According to http://www.discoversuffolk.org.uk/assets/Walks/6-miles-and-over/Treasured-Suffolk-Wingfield-Syleham.pdf the toll to cross in 1955 was one penny.

Two arch bridge at Syleham former watermill
This was the tail race when the mill was working, now it is no more than a road-bridge. behind the green fencing (extreme right) is the old wheel site and a modern gauging station.
