Children's Society shop, Bridge Street, Halesworth
The Children's Society (https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/), formerly the Church of England Children's Society, is a charity that focusses on supporting children in poverty or other distress to have a good childhood. Founded in 1881 by Edward Rudolf, a civil servant, with the support of Archbishop Tait, it was originally named the Church of England Central Society for Providing Homes for Waifs and Strays and engaged in fostering and the provision of children's homes; after the Second World War, in line with wider changes in society, it moved away from the provision of residential care towards support within the family.

Halesworth Thoroughfare
Until the 1980's this was a main road. This view matches a Frith postcard taken in the 1930's. Little has otherwise changed.
