Electricity cable works near Newbourne
Scottish Power Renewables’ East Anglia One offshore wind farm is 30m/48km offshore. Its onshore cable will run 23m/37km from Bawdsey to the Bramford substation west of Ipswich. Archaeological digs have taken place along the route. Image] was taken from more or less the same spot in August 2017. I did not then notice or realise the significance of the stakes marking out the route of the cable.

A wheatfield near Newbourne
Newbourne church tower shows among the trees on the other side of the valley, the roof and chimneys of Street Farm beyond the wheat. Rain set in later on this August afternoon. Update (December 2017): the stakes mark the course of the Ea1 onshore electricity cable, whose construction began later in the year (see Image]).
