East of Trimley Station
On the left the single line can be seen heading towards Felixstowe station and the eastern end of the Port of Felixstowe freight loop. The line on the right can be seen curving sharply to the right as it enters the western end of the freight loop. Both these lines are signalled for bidirectional working and the sign on the left warns railway personnel of this. In the bottom left hand corner of the image can be seen part of the disused section of the station platform.

The railway east of Trimley Station
Class 66 66590 hauls a container train through the disused platform at Trimley station and is about to follow the sharp curve around to the right to gain access to the single line to Felixstowe North Quay Terminal, which is the western part of the docks loop line. The other track is used by both passenger services to and from Felixstowe, which is the next stop, and container trains using the eastern end of the docks loop line.

Eastern end of Trimley Station
This image shows the disused sections of platform at the eastern end of Trimley station. The platform on the right is disused in its entirety, with the line passing it giving access to the western end of the Port of Felixstowe freight loop and can be seen curving sharply to the right just beyond the end of the platform. The left hand platform is still in use, but only for part of its length, and is served by the hourly passenger services between Ipswich and Felixstowe, and vice versa. The line passing this platform is also used by container trains to and from the eastern end of the freight loop.

Trimley Station
The view towards Felixstowe from the footbridge. Two tracks still pass through the station although the platform on the right is no longer in use and passenger trains in both directions use the left hand platform. The track on the right gives access to and from the western end of the Port of Felixstowe loop line, which it accesses via a sharp curve just beyond the trees on the right. The other line is used by the Ipswich to Felixstowe passenger services and by container trains to and from the eastern end of the Port of Felixstowe loop line. Both tracks are signalled for bidirectional working therefore.

Trimley Station
The platform remains seen on the right are now disused with the line passing this platform serving the western end of the Port of Felixstowe freight loop and the sharp curve onto the loop can be seen just beyond the end of the platform. All passenger services from Ipswich to Felixstowe, or vice versa, use the left hand platform, which offers a basic shelter along with some simple racks for bicycles, which can be seen just to the left of the blue lamp post. Passenger trains using this station tend to be two coaches at most so the platform beyond the white fencing is currently disused. The left hand line also gives access to and from the eastern end of the Port of Felixstowe freight loop. The temporary fencing running beyond the waiting shelter is there to keep passengers away from the disused station building, which is now in a bad state of repair.
