Central Line railway in Buckhurst Hill
The railway lines sweep up towards Buckhurst Hill station before dropping and swinging right. This view was taken from the footbridge to the south of the station. The cream building with green facings is the Railway Tavern.

Buckhurst Hill 1st railway station (site), Essex
Opened in 1856 by the Eastern Counties Railway, later part of the Great Eastern Railway, on the line from London Liverpool Street to Loughton, this station closed in 1892 when it was replaced by the current station (which became part of London Underground in 1947).
View south from the current station towards Woodford and London. The platforms are gone but the station building was still extant when this image was taken.
