Opened in 1856 by the Eastern Counties Railway, later part of the Great Eastern Railway, on the line from London Liverpool Street to Loughton, this station closed in 1892 when it was replaced by the current station (which became part of London Underground in 1947). View south from the current station towards Woodford and London. The platforms are gone but the station building was still extant when this image was taken.
