Meadowcroft Lane
Despite its name this is not an ancient lane, but just the access to the factories next to the river. It leads via the car park to the permissive riverside footpath to the old bridge.

Milestone, Halifax Road
This is one of the few main roads in the former West Riding of Yorkshire that retained its old milestones. Most of these were removed in the late 19C and replaced with ones made of cast iron in a standard design.

Old milestone
On the A58, Halifax Road, Ripponden. Although the top is slightly damaged this stone shows the shape of these 18C Rochdale, Halifax and Ealand turnpike stones.
The other face is inscribed TO HALIFAX 5 MILES. At one time the 5 was painted as a 3. This stone is not 'listed'.
