Wawne Road, Kingston upon Hull
Henry Bedford, a banker of Kingston upon Hull, bought the site of Sutton Hall in 1804, and it was probably he who built the house circa 1810. After 1846, it became known as Netherhall. Altered and extended 1873. A fine example of a large cubical villa of white brick, with a good detached former stable block fronting Wawne Road (illustrated). One of several big houses that illustrate the trend from the later 18th century of wealthy inhabitants of Kingston upon Hull choosing Sutton on Hull as a popular place of residence. Now occupied by N.H.S. Hull Teaching Primary Care Trust.
