Priorities
3 Jul 2023 | Burglary Initiative This is an ongoing project in conjunction with the council Neighbourhood Nuisance officer due to a seen increase of burglaries around the Sutton ward. Response (3 Jul 2023)Police and council are also working on a funding bid to be able to provide target hardening equipment to local residents and victims of crime for free. Talks are going to be done by police at local community centres/groups in regards to target hardening and safety to raise awareness. update 21/10/2023 - A funding bid has been granted for the area which will be used to purchase security and target hardening products. This will also be used to increase patrols within the ward to try detect and prevent further crimes. Update 23/01/2024 - We still have the Burglary initiative at SUTTON and since the last update we have purchased numerous security items using the budget including door and window alarms and CCTV systems. The plan is to have a day of action in the coming months to offer target hardening the most vulnerable residents. |
