Former Entrance to Welton House
Gate pillars and curving walls on each side of Park Road mark the entrance to Welton House, rebuilt in 1809 and demolished in 1952. The white building may possibly be a surviving entrance lodge.

Built during the reign of William Rufus and thoroughly restored in 1863 at a cost of £6,000. During restoration work six William Rufus silver pennies were discovered in the foundations.
