How you can help
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team appreciates the importance of being in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons to reassure the public, improve public confidence and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area in which we all live and work.
We encourage all residents to call and report any issues where they live so that we can deal with any issues and step up our patrols in that area.

If you feel that there are other issues affecting you or your local community that should be given priority, please inform your local councillors or your Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Whilst Hanoi burglaries (whereby suspect enters a property and steal car keys and car) appear less prevalent within the Hessle Ward area. There has been an increasing amount of ‘suspicious circumstances’ logs and attempt burglaries to sheds/dwellings. This has been particularly around the Hull Road area of Hessle.

Response (7 Aug 2024)

Throughout the coming months there will be hotspot patrolling around the above aforementioned problem areas.

7 Aug 2024

Anti-Social-Behaviour continues to be high up on our list of priorities and we have been working in conjunction with Hull West Neighbourhoods to disrupt the Boothferry Estate, along with intelligence gathering and identifying those responsible, arresting them and dispersing them from the Hessle area by implementing conditions. Brough also continues to be on our radar with regards to anti-social driving.

Response (7 Aug 2024)

There will be static and hi viz patrols in marked vehicles throughout the summer holidays.

7 Aug 2024

Due to the recent spike in weather, there have been several logs relating to large gatherings of youths on the bank next to the water which is a public access. A few youths have taken it upon themselves to take boats from the sailing club. This has caused damage to some.

Response (7 Aug 2024)

Patrols will continue to show high visibility presence in the area during the holidays and deal appropriately with all those responsible.

10 Sep 2024

There will be a continued high visibility presence of patrols over the coming months to deter any would be criminals who are targeting properties and businesses alike.

Response (10 Sep 2024)

There have been some successful arrests made last month due to a mixture of our hard-working patrols gathering intel and the use of social media also. This theme will continue.
If you witness any such behaviour in your community, please let us know so we can respond, target patrols to the relevant areas and stop criminals in their tracks.

10 Sep 2024

High visibility patrolling will be a continued theme throughout the coming months due to ongoing issues regarding shop thefts. Patrols will continue to gather intel and work closely with other agencies to deter prolific shoplifters.

Switch on to safer streets and always leave a light on and keep burglars out!

Response (7 Oct 2024)

Always lock your doors; even when you leave briefly, are outside on your property, or inside your home. Also, keep your valuables in a safe or lockbox when you go out.
•Lights - You can get plug-in timers for your lamps - and timers for your ceiling lights. Don't just light up the hall. Fool a burglar by lighting up the landing, bathroom, bedroom and living room too. Really fox him by varying the times each light comes on.

•Sound advice - Use a plug-in timer for a radio - make it a talk station rather than music.

•Windows - Remember to shut all windows, even small and upstairs ones, when you leave the house, in your garden or in the rear of your property. If you're upstairs, close your downstairs windows and if you're planning some time away, get a trusted neighbour to shut the curtains at night. You could return the favour some time.

Rural crime is not limited to the farmyard. Serious and organized crime groups are often linked to rural and wildlife crime particularly in relation to theft of agricultural machinery and poaching like hare coursing.

Response (7 Oct 2024)

Patrols across East Riding are reminding farmers to review their security and to keep their properties/equipment safe.
In relation to the security of Tractor GPS Receiver and Screens, please visit the Police website for crime prevention advice around MARK IT, REMOVE IT and LOCK IT.
