The Maltings, Ross on Wye
Inside The Maltings shopping arcade, which is a rather shoddily built modern carbuncle with a leaky roof and a collection of lacklustre shops. But the patterns created by the roof bars are eyecatching.

Former boot and shoe factory
The building beyond the red and white 'Car Care' shop was, until shortly after the end of World War 2, a boot and shoe factory with workshops at the rear. It now stands empty as Legs Clothing Company is no longer trading.

Original Factory Shop comes to town
Part of Ross-on-Wye gradual decline with the influx of low-price outlets like this, charity shops, fast food, betting premises, and in the autumn of 2014, Aldi.
Go to Monmouth for M&S and Waitrose, and Ledbury for quality independents.
Still it has been worse in the Maltings; see photos from 2009 and 2013.
