Setting the blueprint for West Mercia Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner’s West Mercia Safer Communities Plan has four priorities shaped by the public:

Issue: Speeding / Road Safety
You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback and ongoing local concerns.

We will: Conduct regular speed enforcement and engagement activity in our main hotspot locations of A40 Ganarew, Whitchurch, Llangaron, Llangrove,Llancloudy, Welsh Newton, Symonds Yat, The Doward , A4137 St Owens Cross , A49 Peterstow, Bridstow, Glewstone, Foy, Hole in the wall, A449 Gatsford Pitch, Gatsford Lane, Upton Bishop, Brampton Abbotts, Sellack, Kings Caple, Phocle Green, A40 Weston under penyard, Pontshill, The Lea, B4222 Aston Crews , Gorsley, B4224 Bromsash, Pontshill, Walford, Howle Hill, Kern Bridge, Bishops Wood.

We will: Ensure officers are visible in areas of heightened concern.

We will: Look to use our Community Speed Watch Volunteers to support with increasing visibility.

Issue: Rural Crime.
You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing local concerns.

We will: Conduct patrols in Hotspot locations for Rural Thefts.

We will: Complete home visits to residents & businesses to support with Crime Prevention advice and activities.

We will: Mark your property, including garden equipment, mark and register bikes, property mark tools.

We will: Support you to set up Neighbourhood Watch Schemes.

We will: Be contactable for advice on Security.

Issue: Anti-Social Behaviour involving young people in Ross-On-Wye.
You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing concerns.

We will: Engage and deal with Young People committing Anti-Social Behaviour, making use of intervention and prevention activity.
We will: Engage with local businesses affected by Anti-Social Behaviour.
We will: Ensure Officers are visible in areas of heightened concern, including Open Water, Skate Park, outside of the Youth Club, Supermarkets affected by thefts of alcohol.
We will: Work with partner agencies to support Young People affected by Anti-Social Behaviour.
