Ingestone was earlier a mansion and township. Ingestone was Enche(s)tone in 1283 and is likely to mean 'settlement of the manorial servants'.

Nearing the end of the road
A few yards on from here this road terminates at Ingestone to the east of Foy. With the River Wye on three sides this land feels like a peninsula.
