Barnett Woods Perimeter Signs
One of many Private signs around the Perimeter of Barnett Woods which is part of an ancient natural woodland. Top sign was erected around 2008, the repeater below it in 2017.

Barnett Wood
A mostly deciduous wood above Wigmore. It is a delightful place to visit, being a remnant of the oakwoods that once covered much of NW Herefordshire before the coming of the conifers. (Note most trees in this part of the wood are chestnut and birch) Oaks were coppiced for charcoal burning. The charcoal feeding the local iron smelting industry.

Farm track near Wigmore
A rather dull photograph showing two farm gates and a track near Wigmore in Herefordshire. Such are the perils of trying to get Geographs while walking to a pub with a group of friends: you end up snatching shots of whatever you can see while trying not to fall too far behind the group!
