The Kings House
This is over 600 years old and is now a restaurant. According to the website http://www.kingshouseinn.co.uk/16280.html the house didn't have any royal connections, getting its name from Robert King, a merchant. The history also says that the extravagant use of so much timber in the construction was deliberate, just to flaunt how wealthy the owner was.

The Old Forge and The Old Wheelwrights, Pembridge
Viewed across East Street. The black and white building is The Old Forge, with 14th century origins, and major additions in the 17th century. Compare the slope of the right edge of building with the straightness of the wall to its right. The Old Forge was grade II listed in August 1953. Its white-painted neighbour is The Old Wheelwrights.

King's House, Pembridge
The former Greyhound Inn (renamed the Pembridge Inn by an owner in the 1980s to distance it from its alleged earthy reputation). The cross wing in the foregoround dates from around 1460, the main building from 1514. Now a fine restaurant.
