SR No. 34052 'Lord Dowding' storming through Leominster
Built in December 1946 as part of the SR West Country steam locomotive class, this engine was withdrawn as late as July 1967, but this engine by today has a lot of fun holding rail-tours all around the United Kingdom and here she is pulling the Welsh Marches Express on 4th May 2019. She was at full speed when I took this photograph, going over 60mph; no diesel engine at the rear too! This photo was taken from the former Leominster to Kington railway line.

The River Lugg just north of the town of Leominster. The river does appear to branch in two here, the southern arm of the river passing through the edge of the town.

A remarkable roof
A Grade II listed timber-frame cottage https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1255369 on Bridge Street in Leominster. The angle of incline of the gable is quite amazing and memorable.

Bridge Street in Leominster heads north from the town. The white house on the left has the appearance of an over-sized tollhouse.
