Railway at Ford Bridge
Taken from the footpath which crosses the line at this point. There used to be a proper level crossing here, but it was closed when the Leominster bypass (the road to the left of the shot) was opened. I missed a passing train, which would have added interest to this picture, by perhaps half a minute, which is entirely typical of my luck.

River Lugg
Downstream from Ford Bridge. The concrete wall holds up the A49 Leominster by-pass. Previously the road to Stoke Prior crossed a level crossing here from the previous alignment of the A49. The lorry is returning to Hereford, it is working for Cargill who have recently dropped the Sun Valley name from their poultry business.

Site of Ford Bridge Station
The 0705 from Milford Haven to Manchester passes the site of Ford Bridge Station. The pedestrian crossing here is a survivor from a road level crossing which was rendered redundant when the A49 Leominster bypass was built.

Ford - Junction between the A49 and the road to Stoke Prior.
An interesting spot. I am standing on a river bridge looking west. Immediately in front of me is the A49, beyond that, but before the houses, is the Leominster to Hereford railway line and beyond the houses the B4361 from Hope under Dinmore to Leominster - all within a quarter of a mile!
