Unveiled 2019 In 1969, Walenty Pytel's sculpture the Woodpecker was unveiled after being commission by cidermaker Bulmers. It was his first major free-standing welded sculpture and Pytel went on to become a prolific artist, recognised as one of the world's leading metal sculptors of birds and animals. Exactly 50 years on, Mr Pytel's latest work Kingfisher with Minnow has been unveiled. Commissioned by the Cider Museum, it celebrates the contribution of Pytel's art to Herefordshire's cultural landscape and cider's role in kick-starting his career.

View southward, towards Red Hill Junction, Pontypool Road and Newport. This Depot was situated on the west side of the Moorfields Loop (Barrs Court Junction - Red Hill Junction) that by-passed Barrs Court, the main Hereford Station. Coded 85C, it had an allocation of about 50 locomotives in the 1950s, which catered for secondary passenger and freight traffic and yard work in the area, but to a limited extent on the main Shrewsbury - Hereford - Newport axis. In 1963 the allocation would have dwindled, but in early 1954 the following types were on its books: 8 'Hall' and 1 'Manor' 4-6-0s, 11 2-6-0s, 7 0-6-0s, 2 2-8-2Ts, 1 0-6-2T, 15 0-6-0Ts and 7 0-4-2Ts. The Depot was closed on 2/11/64, the Loop being disused from 8/66.

The former primary care trust venue Victoria House, set back 40 metres from the south side of Eign Street, has been vacant for several years. Viewed in January 2017.

Built as the surgeon's house, attached to the Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital. By Nicholson & Clarke, 1912. It seems to have been disused since around 2012 and has deteriorated markedly since this photo. The roof has mostly gone which probably means it is beyond saving.

Heading southwards towards Sainsbury's along the cycleway, which follows the track of the old railway line. The underpass here is lined with graffiti art on the left.
