Elgar Court (Hereford)
Here is a glimpse of Elgar Court near the junction of Vineyard Road and Hampton Park Road (B4224 road). This was built in the mid nineteenth century, and the house was known as Plas Gwyn when one of England's most renowned composers lived here from 1904-11.. that was Edward Elgar, who composed several of his famous compositions in the house, such as his first two symphonies, violin concerto and Pomp and Circumstance Marches No. 3-4. The house has been converted into flats in recent decades, and this was grade II* listed in November 1990. Note the plaque for the out-of-shot house to the left, which is named after Elgar's Enigma Variations (composed from 1898-99).
