Beaconsfield station, 1990
View eastward, towards London: ex-GW&GC Joint Paddington - Birmingham/Marylebone - Sheffield main lines, which were joint for about 50 miles between Northolt Junction and Ashendon Junction. The Fast lines in the centre were probably taken up in the 1960s. (Cf. 1961 scene at Image]).

Beaconsfield railway station
Opened in 1906 jointly by the Great Western Railway and Great Central Railway on the line from London Marylebone to Princes Risborough. View east towards Seer Green and London. At one time there were four tracks, the two middle ones being for non-stop express trains.

View eastward, towards London; ex-GC&GW Joint main line, Paddington - Birmingham etc./Marylebone - Sheffield, via High Wycombe. A 'Hall' class 4-6-0 passes on a Down Freight. The platforms are only on the Slow lines.
