Little Missenden - St John the Baptist - Memorial
This unusual and attractive memorial is against the northern perimeter of the churchyard of St John the Baptist, Little Missenden overlooking the River Misbourne beyond the boundary. (see Image]) I would guess that more names will gradually be added to it as people die and wish to be commemorated on it. The inscription beneath the branches on the central three stones is made up of three extracts from the Book of Revelation (Chapters 21 & 22) (King James version) "And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. On either side of the river, was there the tree of life"
