Amersham Old Town: Whielden Street
Whielden Street was named after a local land owner, although the road name changed to Union Street when Image was built. For many years it was the main A404 road south-west out of Amersham towards High Wycombe. The nearer building with the higher roof is The Saracens Head public house http://www.thesaracensheadinn.com/ built in 1538 and a former coaching inn. A snow squall has briefly left a dusting on the roofs.

Amersham Old Town: The King's Arms hotel
One local guide website describes this building as "Brewer's Tudor". However some of the internal structure dates back to the 15th century. Tracking down the hotel's own website took some time but it is here http://www.zolahotels.com/kings.html

Whielden Street, Old Amersham: the view south-west, out of town
This was formerly the main road to High Wycombe. The tall chimney and the inn-sign in the middle distance are those of the 'Saracen's Head'.
