Asheridge Farm
Asheridge Farm is just inside square SP2095. The little sign says "Asheridge Farm & Orchard Cottage" Asheridge is not to be confused with Ashridge, which is a dozen or so miles away on the other side of Tring.

Chiltern Heritage Trail footpath
According to the signpost seen in Image], this muddy little footpath running along the western boundary of Wood Farm Cottage forms part of the Chiltern Heritage Trail. In current weather conditions I would suggest good water (and more to the point, mud) - proof boots before venturing upon this trail.

Jumble of signs, Asheridge
A juxtaposition of three signs here. The leftmost one informs us that Ashotts Lane comes to a dead-end - as far as vehicles are concerned - a short way ahead, though it continues as a bridleway. This road termination is pretty much where it meets Asheridge Farm, announced by the large, low sign in the middle. The rightmost sign is a multi-pointered footpath sign, much defaced - not necessarily on purpose. The topmost pointer points to the left and indicates the bridleway that runs along Ashotts Lane (see numerous photos in SP9205). The next pointer down is indicating the footpath seen in Image Beneath this are pointers pointing in both directions, one along the footpath and the other along the main lane through Asheridge. This double pointer is showing the route of the Chiltern Heritage Trail.

Asheridge Farm Triangle
The main lane through Asheridge is seen here sweeping away to the right, while on the left is the drive to Asheridge Farm. Forming the third side of this triangle is another drive to the farm which runs (invisibly in this photo) from left to right in front of the house which can be seen ahead (Wood Farm Cottage).

This is the view in the opposite direction to Image] looking back towards Asheridge Farm. Ashotts Lane is a bridleway which at this point is quite a substantial track.

Stile in the hedge, Asheridge
This little stile tucked neatly into a hedge in the corner of a field carries the footpath which led off from Ashotts Lane at Image After this stile it shares its route with the driveway to Asheridge Cottage for a few yards before hitting the main lane through Asheridge opposite and just to the north of Spring Field Cottage - the view from this other side can be seen in Image]

Stile & gateway, Asheridge
The stile seen on the left is the same one seen in Image] but viewed from the other side. The footpath which uses this stile runs along the border of a couple of fields until it meets Ashotts Lane at Image The gateway on the right is the private entrance to Asheridge Cottage.
