Canada Mill black plaque in Moor Road
This plaque, erected by Chesham Town Council, is on the front of modern housing in Moor Road at the junction with the A416 Amersham Road. It has the following wording: Canada Mill Named in honour of this site's historical significance to the local trades of milling and woodware manufacture since the 1840s.

Neptune at Canada Mill
Canada Mill is a new structure "Named in honour of this site's historical significance to the local trades of milling and woodware manufacture since the 1840s" The quote is from a Chesham Town Council plaque on the wall at the far end. Appropriately, the mill is a showroom for Neptune, a furniture company. The River Chess flows in front.

Chess Valley Walk, Chesham
The Chess Valley Walk is a signposted walking route from Rickmansworth through the Chiltern hills to Chesham, a distance of approximately 10 miles. This image was taken near the end of the route in Chesham. Chesham: Island House
Island House is on Moor Road and is currently the headquarters of the Inland Waterways Association. The River Chess is in the reedbed in front, while a parallel culvert takes the discharge channel from the long since demolished Bois Mill underneath the building to the rear, hence the name.

Notices on Gate nears Fullers Close, Chesham
This photo shows two notices on a gate leading into a field off Fullers Close HP5 1LT. The top notice says "PRIVATE. KEEP TO PUBLIC FOOTPATH". The lower notice has the following wording: PRIVATE LAND We'd like to tell you that we are starting a programme to encourage more and new wildlife to these fields.We will be planting more trees, reinstating hedgerows, letting hedges grow taller/wider, leaving "margins" around the arable fields et cetera. In addition we will be using [far] less pesticides and fertilisers and rotating the crops. We would really appreciate your cooperation in protecting the young hedge plants and new trees. There will be some temporary fencing to help protects them. Please note that there are only two Public Footpaths across the land. Any other access/usage is only allowed with the permission of the owners and this will be withdrawn if it is felt that this privilege is being abused. JANUARY 2010
