Food, Glorious Food ...
Any large showground will need to keep its visitors fed and watered, and at the “Hearing Dogs for Deaf People” www.hearingdogs.org.uk/ Summer Fayre there were plenty of water bowls for the dogs – and a long range of tents providing everything from roast pork baps and strawberries and cream to beer and coffee.

Buy a present for your dog ? Stalls at the Hearing Dogs Summer Fayre 2009
At first sight almost anything you might want for your dog seemed to be available – but I was unable to find a non-spill water bowl for the back of the car!

While there were more people than dogs at the show, this view along the stands on the west side of the showground shows that many people had turned up with their pooch.

Pig Racing in the Show Ring, Hearing Dogs Summer Fayre, 2009
Needless to say there were demonstrations in the show ring involving hearing dogs and other canine performers – with variety provided with racing pigs and a display involving a bald eagle swooping low over the crowd. There was also a smaller ring for a fun dog show.
