Memorial to America airmen
The inscription reads:
"In this village 19.2.1945 B24H Liberator 42-50385 R4H piloted by 1st Lt Louis J. McCarthy Jr crashed after take off due to instrument failure. Three crew members perished. In remembrance of the service and sacrifice of aerial gunners of S/Sgt Carl E. Lindquist, Pvt Fred K. Becker and Pvt Howard E. Haley of the 8th USAAF and in honour of the 36th Bomb Squadron RCM unit based at Cheddington Station 113 this memorial is hereby dedicated on 7th May 2011"

Winning Beans at the Long Marston & Puttenham Horticultural Show, 2009
The Horticultural Show is held in the Village Hall, and while the hall is late 20th century it is nice to realise that such local horticultural displays have been part of village life for hundreds of years.
