Aylesbury to Princes Risborough railway
Viewed looking towards Aylesbury from the Mandeville Road pedestrian crossing, this is the opposite view to Image The 1884 Ordnance Survey map shows how the railway cut through the original road to Stoke Mandeville from Aylesbury at this location and why the diversion route of the current road had to be constructed to the east of the railway, beyond the bushes to the right. This is the site of the long since closed South Aylesbury Halt, as shown on the 1940s Ordnance Survey mapping.

Bifurcated & Tubular Rivet Co Ltd - steam engine
This is an E Reader of Nottingham inverted vertical compound engine direct coupled to a Siemens dynamo (yes - DC). One of two at The Bifurcated & Tubular Rivet Co. Ltd., Mandeville Road, Aylesbury. Installed 1910 and stopped late 70s. One was removed to Kew Bridge Steam Museum in 1987 and this one was removed to Nottingham Industrial Museum in 1989. There was no makers name on the engine but the company stated it was a Reader and an identical machine has been found in a Reader catalogue (QED).

Bifurcated and Tubular Rivets - Weir pumps
This works has long since been demolished and immortalised in Rivets Close. These are a typical pair of Weir boiler feed pumps - duplicated for redundancy. These used to be very common but are now getting increasingly less common.

Bifurcated & Tubular Rivets, Aylesbury - boiler house
Now demolished works with two Lancashire boilers and a pair of inverted vertical compound (enclosed) steam engines driving dynamos. One engine is now at Nottingham Industrial Museum and the other is at Kew Bridge Steam Museum. The works is immortalised in the nearby Rivets Close.
