Aylesbury: Lloyds TSB Bank, 1 Market Square
The bank occupies a prominent position in the town and its history is recorded in the inscriptions in the stonework above the front door, The Old Bank of 1795 and The Bucks & Oxon Union Bank of 1853.

Street Corner, Old Aylesbury
The corner of George and Temple Streets.
This sort of scene makes Aylesbury look a quaint old place, but there's only a handful of streets like this.
Hideous 60s blockhouses lurk around every corner and a wide inner ring road stops much charisma escaping out into the rest of the town.

Bourbon Street, Aylesbury
Down the west side of the street, old houses and shops in vernacular materials as seen here; unseen on the east side, the Friars Square shopping centre, a contrast which says a lot about how the late twentieth century treated Aylesbury.

The King's Head, off Market Square, Aylesbury
A pub unusually owned by the National Trust. The alleyways and courtyards that lead to it were apparently characteristic of this area off the Market Square until twentieth-century redevelopment swept most of them away.
