Aylesbury: Pond by Bear Brook
When the Aylesbury Flood Alleviation Scheme was being planned and built an existing low-lying area near the prone to flood Bear Brook was excavated to make this pond. The small island in the middle seen here was designed as a refuge for roosting birds.
The boundary between the Civil Parishes of Aylesbury, to the left, and Bierton with Broughton, to the right, runs more or less down the middle of the pond.

Old Milepost by the A41, Tring Road, Aylesbury
Cast iron post by the A41, in parish of AYLESBURY (AYLESBURY VALE District), Tring Road; opposite No. 209, on grass verge in front of deep ditch and behind tarmac path, on South side of road. Barrett Bucks iron casting, erected by the Sparrows Herne turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Tring Road, Aylesbury
The A41 was trunked from Hunton Bridge to Aylesbury a couple of decades ago, and returns to its old route as it gets to Aylesbury. It then has to wind through the entire town centre including numerous roundabouts and series of endless traffic lights.
