Disused railway line near Knapps Hook Farm 3
This view looking south of the disused single track railway line that was once an alternative route to the London terminus at Marylebone of the Great Central Railway, see Image appears heavily overgrown with brambles and bushes. However the line was last used as recently as the mid 1990s and much of the undergrowth is superficial; there are no trees growing up through the track as can often be seen in abandoned railways that are much older.

Road to Greatmoor
The old GCR railway line from Ashendon Junction to Grendon Underwood Junction has been converted into an access road for the Greatmoor Energy From Waste (EFW) incinerator near Calvert. This allows HGVs carrying commercial waste to access the plant from the A41 road at Woodham. The road is single track with passing places as illustrated here.

Disused railway line near Knapps Hook Farm
This disused and overgrown single track railway line was once the Great Central Railway, which when it opened in 1899 was the last main line twin track railway to be built. This section of the line was constructed to provide an alternative route to the London terminus at Marylebone via High Wycombe instead of sharing the line with the Metropolitan Railway via Aylesbury. The track continues as far as the A41 and the site of the former Akeman Street station 2km to the south. Until the mid 90s a weekly freight train used this line to serve a fertiliser depot just north of the A41. Further south the track was dismantled in the late 1960s.
