Pergola at The Dairy, Waddesdon
On entering the grounds of The Dairy at Waddesdon from its car park the path takes you under this attractive domed pergola. Taken on one of the occasional Open Days as the Dairy is not normally open to the public.

The Grapes of Roth-schild
My apologies for the pun ! The Rothschild family used to own Waddesdon Manor until they gave it to the nation via the National Trust in 1957. They are still intimately involved with the place, and still own parts such as The Dairy - where these vines are growing. Of course the Rothschilds own some rather more valuable vines than these, as two of the World's greatest wines, Chateau Mouton-Rothschild and Chateau Lafite are owned by the family firm. The Dairy entrance from inside
The Dairy at Waddesdon is around a quadrangle, this view is taken from inside the quad looking out of its entrance. The structure dangling from the archway is a rather splendid candelabra formed from antlers. The archway and wall are covered in vines (see Image]).

Jetty into the lake at The Dairy
The Dairy has two small covered jetties that jut out into its little lake. These can be used for civil wedding ceremonies etc. Notice the rather splendid finial at the end of the roof.

The lake at The Dairy
This is a view over the lake that is overlooked by The Dairy at Waddesdon. There are in fact two lakes here (and two ponds as well) but this is the larger and more noticeable one.
