18th century Grade II Listed building now a garage and, at the rear, part of dwelling house. The old gaol is a ‘single cell’ asset with an original door, currently blocked off internally. Subsequently (1750) constructed to the front is the carriage house, comprising a principal volume (at one time housing the local, hand-operated fire engine) and a second narrower volume for storage (possibly ladders, hoses, harnesses etc.). Planning was approved in March 1990 for the replacement of roof and roof structure of Old Gaol. The attached house, Athlone Cottage, is mentioned in a number of places as being listed but I can't find an entry. Made into a B&B in 2012, in 2015 it was voted the world’s best B&B on TripAdvisor but the then owners sold it in 2019.

Three Grade II Listed early 19th century cottages. Listed in 1986 as "Cottages occupied by Mrs Lockwood, Mr Metcalfe and Mr Dawling". In October 2007 planning approved conversion of 8 and 10 to form one dwelling. A watching brief in 1999 at 12, probably in connection with a rear extension, recorded remains of a path of medieval date as well as post-medieval building remains.

Grade II Listed row of three early 19th century cottages. Listed in 1986 as "Cottages occupied by Messrs Edmundson and Gowland, Mr Swan and Mrs Dresser". The cottages are said to pre-date 1830. The rear part at least of No.2 was until around 2013 used as a solicitors office since at least 1996 when the fuel store was converted to a waiting room for the 'existing office' and part of the office was converted to a dwelling. This corrugated extension housing the former office at the rear replaced an earlier structure shown on the 1890 map. School View No.6 seems to have been converted to an office with holiday 'flatlet' above in 1976. By, probably in, 2005 it appears to have been converted back to a single dwelling again.

This school has been extended at various times in different styles.

Ivydene, 25 Market Place was a nursing home that closed in 1999. It looks like this was a store and office for the home and was converted back to a dwelling in late 2000 or early 2001. Ivydene is Grade II Listed and Valentine Cottage may well be included in the listing.

The school occupies a range of old buildings just off the NE corner of the market place. The main part is of 1834, but some sections may be earlier.

The village school was founded in 1760 by the Lord of the Manor, William Danby. It is a grade II listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 325063 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-325063-school-masham-north-yorkshire British listed buildings).
