1,454 sq ft four bedroom Athlone Cottage, is mentioned in a number of places as being listed but I can't find an entry. Made into a B&B in 2012, in 2015 it was voted the world’s best B&B on TripAdvisor but the then owners sold it in 2019. Attached to it is the 18th century Grade II Listed old gaol and carriage house. To the rear, now part of the dwelling, is a ‘single cell’ gaol with an original door, currently blocked off internally. Subsequently (1750) constructed to the front is the carriage house, now the garage, comprising a principal volume (at one time housing the local, hand-operated fire engine) and a second narrower volume for storage (possibly ladders, hoses, harnesses etc.). Millgate is a 3 bedroom 1091 sq ft cottage.
