Footpath past Gillbeck Farm
This farm (which appears to be two dwellings) illustrates the point that if footpaths are properly signed and kept clear, it minimises the disruption caused by walkers.

Sheep above the gill
The gill here is Water Gate Beck. It makes a significant valley on its route via Middle Tongue Dyke to the River Nidd just below Pateley Bridge. On the far side are scars from quarry workings.

Approach to Backhouse Gill
Plenty of waymarks to guide the walker across this small gill. There is good waymarking on this path, particularly at each wall crossing, although the path is indistinct across the open rough pastures towards the B6265.

Stone tip, Low Moor
There's a lot of gritstone piled into tips along this moor edge by old quarries. One wonders why it might have been rejected as it looks to be good quality stone.

Solitary gatepost near Bay Croft Hill
There is a temptation to drift towards this farm, but the path goes to the right of it.
