The Drovers, Bishop Thornton
The Drovers was once a popular place for meals and for musical evenings, but now it is abandoned and in a sad state of repair. Rumour has it that the inn may be demolished and the large site redeveloped.
2014 update: The Drovers Inn has now gone completely, the decaying building being gutted by fire circa 2011. The site is currently fenced off and awaiting development.

Drovers Fold, Thornton Moor
Drovers Fold is a development of 'executive' style houses on the site of the former Drovers Inn. The pub that stood at the crossroads was once a popular eating place, but it fell on hard times and was closed by 2008. Left empty for several years, it was mostly destroyed by fire in 2011 and despite a deal of controversy, this small development was erected on the site in more recent years.

Where once there was beer....
A few piles of rubble and earth are all that remains of The Drovers Inn that had stood on the Bishop Thornton crossroads for at least 150yrs.
You do now get a better view out of the junction if you're coming from Markington!

A Sad End
The Drovers, on the Bishop Thornton crossroads, caught fire recently, just days after the stone slate roof was removed. It now seems highly likely that the building will have to be demolished.
