Moorbrook Mill, New Mills
Now demolished and replaced by housing. The view direction and photographer position are best guesses. I had already posted this mill from a different direction -

Repainted water main valve marker plates, New Mill
These all have the lettering pivked out in silver. Two of them are on a 12" Huddersfield Corporation main, one of them for a washout valve used when the main was washed out into the river (New Mill Dike). The town crests have been painted in colours, although I should think that they would originally have been white#. I think the third plate was for a New Mill Urban District Council fire valve.

New Mill near Huddersfield
The archetypal West Yorkshire millscape. The chimney has been fitted with a gas efflux velocity cone (i.e the little nozzle at the top).
Local historian Stanley Walker has informed me that the mill in the photograph is Moorbrook Mill, opened in 1913 by Moorhouse and Brook. It has now been demolished (pity).

View of New Mill from Sude Hill, Fulstone township
A hamlet developed at the crossing of two turnpike roads, and this became a small industrial town during the 19C. New Mill UDC was formed in 1895 from the civil parishes of Fulstone, Hepworth and Scholes. It was abolished in 1938 and most of the area added to Holmfirth UD.

Hunter's Lodge, Huddersfield Road, New Mill, Fulstone township
There is a pair of antlers over the name plaque. Despite the name this appears to be a pair of houses.
