Back lane off New Hey Road, Rastrick
This is shown as a footpath on the township map of 1824, but there has been no way through since before 1893. It goes past the rear of the houses along New Hey Road.

New Road Sunday School, New Hey Road, Rastrick
New Road School was established in 1837 for non-denominational RI teaching, with Sunday evening services conducted by Baptists, Methodists and Independents. It was used as a day school in 1851 and later taken over as a British School until it became a Board School in 1881. It closed as a school in 1912 when Carr Green School opened, and is now a non-denominational chapel.

Terrace houses, New Hey Road, Rastrick
With Badger Hill Mills and Spout Mills both close, it is not surprising that New Hey Road was developed for housing in the late 19C.

Vacant plot on the west side of New Hey Road, Rastrick
I don't know what is wrong with this plot, that it has remained undeveloped and derelict. The 1824 and 1850 maps suggest that there were buildings on the lower end of it, and the 1893 map shows several small cottages that were still shown on the 1963 map but not on the 1978 edition and were probably demolished as part of slum clearance.

Derelict smallholding off New Hey Road
This is part of a field called 'Clough' on the township map of 1824. Possibly there was originally a V-shaped valley that has been filled in and the stream culverted. This is another view of the enclosure shown in Image

New Road Square, Rastrick
On the left is a block of back-to-back houses built in the second half of the 19C. There was space to build more to the right, but that never happened and there are flower beds and grass instead. The building in the background is the New Road Chapel, formerly the Union Sunday School.
