Datestone on Park Works, Nabcroft Lane
This is one of a series of datestones with 1917 or other dates. 'DB' is obviously for 'David Brown', but the Wikipedia article does not explain what the 'S' is for. During the First World War the company expanded greatly, "building propulsion units for warships, and drive mechanisms for armaments" (quoting from Wkikpedia).
