The Bay Horse, Oakes
This is a facade view of The Bay Horse which stands at the junction of A640 New Hey Road and Acre Street in Oakes. The pub looks as though it may once have been a coaching inn judging by the flattened archway that is now infilled with a window.

The Bay Horse, New Hey Road, Lindley
Some time after 1850 someone snapped up this strategic site between the New Hey turnpike road and Acre Street, which leads to Lindley village, and built this pub. The junction now has a roundabout, partly visible on the right.
