This is a 19C replacement for a 14C wayside cross, and is inscribed on the E face, below the Thornhill Arms, 'Re-erected / by / T T / 1808 / After Being / wilfully / pulled down / Haigh Cross'. On the W face is a Cornish Chough in a rectangular panel and below it 'Quarmbys / de / Quarmby / Crest / 1304. T.T. was Thomas Thornhill.
